AI principles

AI that shows you the scripture and knows where to stop.

AI is now where many people take their hardest questions about faith. We hold ours to a clear standard: cite the scripture behind every answer, answer within the tradition you read in, and stop where scripture is silent. These are the principles we engineer to.

01

Show the scripture

Our AI does not make a claim about scripture without giving you the passage to read for yourself. The point is never to be believed on our own authority — it is to get you into the text.

02

Answer within your tradition

Christians read faithfully and still arrive at different conclusions. Our AI asks which tradition you belong to, answers within it, and names honestly where traditions differ rather than pretending they agree.

03

Say when scripture is silent

Some questions do not have a chapter and verse. When that is the case, our AI says so instead of filling the silence with something that sounds authoritative.

04

It is a study companion, not a pastor

Our AI is not a pastor, a counsellor, a physician, or a lawyer, and it tells you so. On questions of abuse, self-harm, health, or law, it stops and points you to a qualified person.

05

Reviewed by people who teach scripture

Answer quality is checked with pastors and teachers from more than one tradition. We are building a documented review process, and we will publish how that review works.

06

Limits written where you can see them

Every AI feature carries its limits in plain language on the screen where you use it, not buried in a terms document you will never open.

What it will not do

Being clear about the limits.

Every AI feature we ship carries its limits in plain language on the screen where you use it. You should never have to guess where the software stops and a person needs to begin.

It is not a pastor

Our AI can help you find and understand a passage. It does not know your life, your history, or your conscience, and it will not pretend to shepherd you.

It is not a counsellor or a doctor

Questions about abuse, self-harm, mental health, or medical decisions are met with a clear pointer to qualified people and emergency help. We do not provide counselling or medical advice.

It is not a lawyer

Anything with legal weight comes with a plain instruction to speak with a professional where you live.

It does not settle disputed doctrine

Where faithful Christians have differed for centuries, our AI lays out the positions and the scripture behind them rather than declaring one of them correct.

How we check the answers

Accountable to people who know scripture.

Whether an answer is faithful to scripture is not something a generic quality score can measure. It takes people who have spent their lives in the text.

Sample real questions

We continuously sample the kinds of questions people actually ask, paying extra attention to the sensitive ones rather than setting them aside.

Check every citation

Each passage is checked automatically — that it exists, and that it genuinely supports what was said.

Review by teachers

Pastors and teachers review answers within their own tradition and tell us where the AI has drifted.

Publish what we find

We describe what the review covers and where the AI falls short, not only where it does well.

An invitation

If you teach scripture, we would value your eyes on this.

We are looking for pastors, teachers, and students of scripture willing to read AI answers within their own tradition and tell us where we have it wrong. This review is what makes everything else on this page mean something.
